After you pay, keep the status page open or save its link. Paid means checkout succeeded; it does not mean the recipient received the fax. The status page shows the current transmission state, and we email the final result.
Read the status first
- Queued, scheduled, or processing: The fax is still being prepared or transmitted. These are not final delivery results. Wait for the status to change and check your email.
- Delivered: The transmission completed according to the fax provider. Save the confirmation and, if you need proof that someone read the document, ask the recipient directly.
- Failed: Delivery did not complete. Check the recipient number and the guidance on your status page before taking another action.
If a status seems stuck or you cannot open the link, email help@onetimefax.com with the email address used at checkout and the status link or fax ID. Avoid paying for a second fax while the first may still be processing.
If the fax failed
- Verify the recipient’s fax number with the organization. For international numbers, include the country calling code and follow the destination’s numbering rules. A valid number format does not guarantee that a provider can reach the line.
- Check whether the recipient’s fax line was busy or unavailable. Ask the recipient when to try again or whether they have another fax number.
- Open the original fax status page. For an eligible failed paid web fax, choose Update number and retry. This changes the recipient number and requeues that existing fax; it does not require a new checkout. If the retry option is absent, contact support with the status link.
- If you do not want to retry, use Request refund on the failed paid web fax status page. It offers a reusable coupon or a card refund. A permanently failed fax can still show the refund choice even when it cannot be retried from that page.
Check the status again after a retry. A retry request is not delivery confirmation. If the page reports an error while retrying or refunding, contact support with the original status link rather than placing another order.
Prepare a readable document
PDF is usually easiest for multi-page faxes. Onetime Fax also accepts JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, HEIC, HEIF, and WEBP. Check page orientation, text size, and contrast before uploading. If the recipient reports unreadable pages despite a delivered result, prepare a clearer copy and ask them to confirm the correct fax number.
See international fax number formatting for country-code examples. The country-code list is a dialing reference, not a coverage list.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does paying mean my fax was delivered?
No. Payment starts processing. Check the status page for a final delivered or failed result.
Can I correct a failed fax number without paying again?
For an eligible failed paid web fax, use Update number and retry on its status page. The existing fax is requeued.
What if I do not want to retry?
A failed paid web fax can offer a refund choice on its status page: a reusable coupon or a refund to the original card.
